Trying a Little Something New

I moved my studio into its own dedicated space! No more dining room table crowding my space! No more dark green walls and covered porch sucking up all my natural light! Best of all, I can now hang my sewy things on the walls!

You know what that means...I have a great excuse to participate in a mini swap!

I signed up for a Tula Pink True Colors Mini Swap and I made my first inspiration mosaic.

I already had a little bundle of 6 True Color FQs and I added 4 more when I was at Branum's for my AugustaMQG meeting last Tuesday.

Can you tell I am a bit excited about participating in my first swap?

I've been a bit busy and a bit down lately and I have neglected the blog for several weeks. I owe you all an update on two big events.

First, today is Son #1 and DIL #1's First Monthiversary and I haven't shared any wedding photos.
Second, my new studio reveal.

I'll try to remedy that this week.

Thanks for Visiting!

  1. Congratulations on your new studio! I used to sew in my dining room too which worked ok for cooking and being more present with my family, but it did not allow me to decorate and leave my mess out. I am sure you will enjoy your swap. I did some last year and enjoyed the surprises. I can't wait to see pictures of your studio and the wedding. Staying busy and working on projects is a great way to pull yourself up.

  2. I hope some sewing 'therapy' will help you to feel up again really soon. The new sewing space you have is something I'm dreaming of, one day!!

  3. Congratulations on the new sewing space. That's pretty exciting stuff. I currently have to use the dinning room as my space. My daughter hates when she has her friends over and I tell them the house is my sewing studio, I just let the other people live here :)

  4. Oh I am LOL at what Tish said above! Can't wait to see your new digs and the wedding pics. I don't know if your feeling down has anything to do with your son's wedding - but if it does it is entirely normal. Many, many years ago when I was in high school, my brother got married. In spite of the fact it was a wonderful experience for all of us, my parents and I were depressed afterward and decided to plan a vacation to get ourselves out of the doldrums. It turned out to be the best vacation ever! Whatever it is for you, I understand and am hoping it will soon pass.

  8. That's a great inspiration board! How did I not see the signups for the swap!? Probably good as I'm trying to dial back my swap participation for a while to get some WIPs finished. The True Colors fabrics are so beautiful. I've used them in a few projects. Have fun with the swap! I look forward to seeing your new sewing space. Congratulations on that.
